Domestic Plastering & New Build Projects
We specialise in domestic plastering and are experienced at new builds, renovation and refurbishing. We supply all kinds of quality plastering services including replacement of cavity wall ties to pebble dashing. We are also experienced at artexing for walls and ceilings and can carry out damp proofing work. We can fit coving and do rendering and screeding work to ensure a smooth and level finish.

Pebble Dashing: Traditional Finish in a New Form

Plain renders were liable to be damaged by driving rain and freeze/thaw action, and needed coatings of weatherproof paint for protection and to prevent them from looking dull and drab.

Many builders avoided these problems by applying a dry dashing of small pebbles to the freshly-applied render, and were able to offer a finish that would shed the rain and not need periodic redecoration. The work was done with pebbles which were readily available locally, and pebble dash became part of the language.

Pebble Dashing & Property Renovation
The term was also used to describe the various crushed stones used on sites where pebbles were obtainable economically, or where builders wanted to offer a choice of finishes.

Although dry-dashing for new build schemes is diminishing, demand in the refurbishment field is growing, thanks to more renovation of neglected Victorian and Edwardian housing in our inner cities and older suburbs.
